cat food
I have tried almost every dry cat food for my cats and they throw up all of it. The Iams indoor was better than anything else I had tried. However, I tried Purina Beyond. No throwup and they actually like it. I give that to them along with a couple of cans of Purina Friskies Indoor wet food. They are doing great. Remember all are over 15 as well. Oh, and I keep the Purina Beyond in the fridge. It has no preservatives and a lady who uses it told me she gets bugs before she uses up the bag. So I buy the 3 pound bag and keep it in the fridge. It is a little more expensive by buying in such small quantities, but so worth it in the tolerance by the cats. Even Sally likes it. Sally is my blind, 16 year old mama cat.

Ditched Black and Decker
I officially ditched Black and Decker trimmer. It was a wasted $64. I bought a Toro and while I wish I had bought a little stronger motor, it does a great job and I can rewind the string without having to spend 8 bucks every time I need new string. I can now buy bulk string instead of having to buy a new spool, prewound. I will never buy anything by Black and Decker again. I'm planning on getting a new mower and it will be a Honda. Those motors go forever.

Black and Decker products
Black and Decker are the most useless pieces of junk. Their new weed whacker is fixed so you have to use the pre-wound spools. Even at that, they still spit out reems of string, whack off pieces that hit your legs, and you waste the last 3 feet of string. Mine is going in the garbage today. I am replacing it with a Earthwise ST00015. Ratings are good. We'll see. I do know I will never buy a Black and Decker anything ever again.

Black and Decker GH900 Weed trimmer
Don't waste your money on this junk. If you don't purchase the pre-wound spools, they it will spit out the string and cut nothing. Nothing except your legs that is. It is worthless unless you have the bucks to always buy the pre wound and even with those, it still tangled terribly. I am going to get a different brand this time. Not sure what brand I will get but it won't be a Black and Decker.

Not much to comment on.
I don't have much to comment on since I have been broke and have not purchase any of the new things I need. Well, maybe not need. My dryer has been dead for about 4 years. I'm doing ok. I dry all my clothes outside. Saves energy and is easier on my towles and bedclothes to say nothing of my denims. My dishwasher has been dead for longer than that, but I really don't miss it. At most, it would be used once a week. No, I really don't need that either. Lawn mower, it has been broken for 2 years. I use a weed eater, Black and Decker. I am slowly converting my yard to no grass anyway. So I don't need the lawn mower. No television. I have not had television for around 4 years. I cancelled the dish and have not looked back. I don't miss it.
I do need a new HVAC unit. However, my has not quit, so I guess until it does, I really don't need that either. I guess I am doing pretty good. I have also found a route to work that I can use to bicycle. So I may park the car as well. I keep a house phone because I live in a hurricane area and when we do have an emergency, the cell towers go down. However, I really could manage without the land line as well. The only calls I get are telemarkerters. Oh and scam calls. Really I keep it because I have a 1940's black bakelite rotary dial phone that is my house phone. I love it. When I do get a call from a business, and am told to press one, I just hang up. Yep. I'm doing pretty good.
Oh, I just got a new Black and Decker weed eater. I will let you know how I like it.

Busy time
I have been really busy during the last couple of weeks. I haven't gotten much done for my business. But on an up note, I have been doing a pretty good business sewing for an older lady. However, she has asked me to make her some jackets. I will and I am working on them. However, the quality of fabric is disgusting. I never thought that in my lifetime, I would see the United States without a manufacturing base and I never thought I would see the citizens of this country settle for the garbage that is being shipped here and sold. There is no good fabric and notions out there. I judge everything by fabrics. And what I am seeing today is really trash. Trash with a high dollar price tag. I would liken it to going to the city dump and loading up on garbage and paying for the privilege. When I began sewing in the 1960's, there was quality wool, Compton Corduroy, wonderful cottons and denims. Now all you can find is polyester, spandex, nylon. The quality of the cottons is pathetic. It was stuff we would find at the dollar store and we would not use it. Now it is considered quality fabric. This country has really sunk to third world status. And it is shameful.

Crocheting and Sewing.
I have been really making scarves, but these are for cold weather, not fashion. I can only get into winter stuff when it is cold and by then I need it. So, I am working like crazy. I picked up some flannel today to make jackets. I got a really good deal on it and may go back tomorrow and get more.
I am continually amazed that the lack of quality in fabrics. We didn't know how good we had it before NAFA. We had fabric mills here in this country and they turned out quality fabrics. Compton corduroy was a staple. And the wools were outstanding. Not anymore. At least 90% of the stuff I am seeing now I would have found in the dollar store years ago and I would not have used. Now I have no choice. And I cannot even find corduroy anymore. I can find half way decent denim. Cottons are another matter. They are definitely inferior. I am delighted when I find an estate sale with a fabric stash. I buy it all. But those are few these days. And most people do not have a clue about the quality or lack thereof of the clothes they buy. I taught my daughter and my sons how to shop for clothes. Inspect the buttons. Turn the garment inside out and inspect the seams. There should be no loose strings nor any loose buttons. There should be concise cleaning instructions in the garment. But I am not happy with any of the ready made either.
My sewing machines, of which I have 5, are going to get a real workout this winter. I am making quilts for the animals. Daisy does better with the quilts than any pillows. My grandkids love quilts so grandma is quilting along with all my other sewing.
I have finally started my sewing business. I have picked up a couple of clients and have been really busy. I finished hemming 12 pair of slacks for one lady and have 1 more pair to go and two jackets and a robe. I have been sewing around 8 hours per day. Love it.
